Check out this article Tips for how your business can use Pinterest by the Charlotte Observer. This article is short but it’s to the point. And although these tips may seem obvious, they are the little things that must be covered because they are the most important and effective in profiting your business. This article makes the point of using HIGH QUALITY pictures, captioning them, and linking them back to your main hub website. HIGH QUALITY cannot be stressed enough because this is what Pinterest is all about. Another point is to make sure all pictures are relevant to your business. Mostly all of them should embody the product or service that is being sold. Pick the best pictures to inspire the both new and regular customers. Pictures are the fundamental building blocks of Pinterest, so make sure to make them count.
In the article , Pin Your Company to the Top with the Pinterest for Business the author Pierre DeBois goes on to cover some interesting aspects that only Pinterest can give businesses. The elegant way the author describes Pinterest for businesses is how, opposed to most social networks, Pinterest “compels users to insert their own stories into the pictures.” This means that instead of Facebook where anybody may randomly talk about the business, Pinterest forces people to pin pictures, to spread the logo, to have the trutht of images promote whatever the business is selling. Other than the gift of pictures, Pinterest can be used as its own analytic tool. Pinterest gives the opportunity to track your pins down using Pinerly, granting the ability to pinpoint demographics and begin your marketing strategy. And lets not forget one of the biggest reasons to have a Pinterest for your business, SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION! As a ranking social media site, Pinterest will surely give you the internet traffic you desire.

What is it exactly? It’s difficult to explain definitively what Pinterest is. If I had to explain it, it’s like a classier, more organized instagram. The gist of it is to take/find pictures and videos and post them up for the world to see. But it is so much more than that. It is a new form of social media and network that shares pictures of people, places, and things. People can “pin” any picture/video they want to their profile and are able to categorize them using “boards.” The end result is a collage of the things you love to see. Lets not forget that you can follow your friends to see what they are pinning. As well as you can follow anybody else, whatever inspires you!
Personally, I fell in love with it. I created my account a few months ago and I haven’t stopped using it since. I pin at least one thing a day. And i know what a lot of you are thinking: how could this guy be using Pinterest so much or isn’t it just for girls? Let me be the first to say that its a NO! Guys use Pinterest too. Of course there are fashion designer clothes and the DIY crafts and the H&G decorations. But that’s only if you look for them. It’s called search people; use it! I have custom made my Pinterest boards to make it a man’s world. Which is another great thing about it; it is so easy to use. User friendly navigation = YES!
So I encourage you to try it out yourself. Make a Pinterest account and join a world that will surely surprise you with things you have never seen before. According to Alexa.com – The Web Information Company, Pinterest is currently the 35th most used website in the world, 14th in the United States, and 3rd biggest social networking site in the world, right behind Facebook and Twitter. And with those statistics, maybe SOMETHING good is happening and if there is, you should be apart of it.
