What’s the deal with Pinterest?

What is it exactly? It’s difficult to explain definitively what Pinterest is. If I had to explain it, it’s like a classier, more organized instagram. The gist of it is to take/find pictures and videos and post them up for the world to see. But it is so much more than that. It is a new form of social media and network that shares pictures of people, places, and things. People can “pin” any picture/video they want to their profile and are able to categorize them using “boards.” The end result is a collage of the things you love to see. Lets not forget that you can follow your friends to see what they are pinning. As well as you can follow anybody else, whatever inspires you!

Personally, I fell in love with it. I created my account a few months ago and I haven’t stopped using it since. I pin at least one thing a day. And i know what a lot of you are thinking: how could this guy be using Pinterest so much or isn’t it just for girls? Let me be the first to say that its a NO! Guys use Pinterest too. Of course there are fashion designer clothes and the DIY crafts and the H&G decorations. But that’s only if you look for them. It’s called search people; use it! I have custom made my Pinterest boards to make it a man’s world. Which is another great thing about it; it is so easy to use. User friendly navigation = YES!

So I encourage you to try it out yourself. Make a Pinterest account and join a world that will surely surprise you with things you have never seen before. According to Alexa.com – The Web Information Company, Pinterest is currently the 35th most used website in the world, 14th in the United States, and 3rd biggest social networking site in the world, right behind Facebook and Twitter. And with those statistics, maybe SOMETHING good is happening and if there is, you should be apart of it.
